1. Light white candles

Using white candles will destroy negative energy in the space you are using to conduct your séance. White symbolizes purity and new beginnings. It also promotes peace and truth.

White candles represent the day of the week Monday. Monday is the day of the moon and Monday can help you move forward in a positive mindset for the rest of the week.

The moon the Monday and he white candle represents the feminine and cycles of time and phases of change.

2. Cleanse board with sage before each use

Sage was used in the middle ages to treat fevers, epilepsy and liver diseases. Sage represents the element of air and the planet Jupiter. It is sacred to many Native American belief systems used to purifying the body with smudging. This is said to get rid of evil influences and bad luck. It is said to also represent immortality, wisdom protection and used in wishes.

3. Don’t use board in your own home

If you should inadvertently allow a demon or evil spirit to cross over it will be in our own home. Also this encourages spirits of all shapes and sizes to visit you where you live and it will be harder to break contact from that entity if you do not physically leave the place you had communication.

4. Don’t use board when you are tired, sick , weak or intoxicated

Using the board in these states leaves you open to possession and attacks

5. Always watch the Planchette and do not let it fall off the board

If the Planchette falls of the Spirit Board it has been reported that the spirit will get loose. If the Planchette starts going around in a figure 8 it is also said that the board is being taken over by an evil spirit or demon. In this case, flip the planchette over upside down and use it in this manner. Spirits can also escape the board if they count down the numbers or alphabets. If this should occur end the communication by putting the planchette on “goodbye”.

6. Don’t use board when you are alone

Using the board when alone also leaves you open to attack and possession. Also the more people you have the more energy you will have for the spirit to draw from to communicate with you.

7. Do not be rude, always be polite and courteous

Never taunt or tease spirits to get a reaction from them.

8. Do not ask spirit to show itself

Never ask the spirit to manifest itself. That would be encouraging the entity to cross over from the other plane of existence and at this point hopefully they have not done that. If you have managed to keep the planchette on the board, stopped any strange planchette count downs hopefully the spirit is still on the other side and simply speaking to you from this alternate dimension. Asking it to join you in ours could bring on a haunting you do not want and possible attachment.

9. Never trust the spirit

Some spirits will be telling you the truth. However many of these entities will try and deceive you and fool you into thinking you are speaking to someone you are not or that they are good. If you start talking with an entity which you assume if friendly and then they start to turn or come out and tell you that their name is “Zozo” end your communication immediately. 10. Move Planchette to “Goodbye” at end of “Game” to close the door

Always say “goodbye” when closing out the game. If you do not it’s like leaving the spirit hanging, not telling any malevolent spirits that they need to go now.

To recap, always say “goodbye” immediately if you

1. The spirit starts to count down from zero to one or one to zero (either direction)

2. The spirit starts to go through the alphabet (either direction)

3. The spirit starts to make the planchette go in ∞ figure 8s

4. You believe you might be in contact with an evil or mischievous spirit

5. And also say “goodbye” if they tell you their name is “Zozo”
